THE VERDICT

The B-Pro is the longest running women’s specific snowboard. With twenty years of design and innovation, the 2016/2017 edition is the ideal board for the aggressive all-mountain rider who wants to be confident in the board to handle speed and variable conditions over a variety of terrain.

FULL REVIEW

Barrett Christy originally designed this board for the park and pipe, but with powder and big mountain riding in the back of her mind. Working with the design team at Gnu for the last twenty years, the B-Pro has continued to evolve leading the charge in all mountain freestyle boards with the ability to handle the most advanced terrain. The board is stable and fast, yet still playful. It is the ideal board for an intermediate to advanced rider looking to take her riding to a higher level.

Handling
The B-Pro handles variable terrain well. With aggressive camber underfoot and a mild rocker between the feet, this board transitions easily edge-to-edge while maintaining speed and stability. The board has a longer effective edge than most at comparable sizes, so it felt more stable in smaller sizes.

Pop + Energy
The lively and playful feel of the B-Pro is the best in its class. If riding the top of the mountain to the bottom through the terrain park is your thing, this might be the board of choice.

Float
Although the B-Pro is not a powder specific board the rocker underfoot floats over soft snow and crud. A wider than average nose holds up in powder.

Versatility
Perhaps this board’s best attribute is its versatility in soft snow, as well as ice and crud.  The B-Pro is comfortable at high speed, over advanced terrain, and handles aggressive freestyle riding. One tester summarized the board by saying, “Solid. Fun. Fast.”

Edge Hold
The magne-traction, or serrated wavy edges, truly offers superior edge control especially in the steeps and firm variable conditions.

Sustainability/Craftsmanship
The Washington-based company hand-makes all of its snowboards in the United States using wind and water powered energy. The company boasts eco friendly materials like FSC certified wood core, and donates a portion of the proceeds from this board to Boarding for Breast Cancer.
