Lifty has developed a cool new way of avoiding leg fatigue while riding the ski lift. Strap on the Lifty device ($40) to one boot. When you hop on the chair, you slide the metal loop dangling off the end of the Lifty into the lanyard hook that’s attached to your board until the magnet engages. Then the weight of the board pulls out a cord distributing the weight of the board between both legs, rather than leaving the board dangling from one limb. When you reach the top, step down and the loop disengages from the lanyard (again, magnets!) and you’re set. After a few hard-charging days, your knees and ankles will thank you. —Nathan Borchelt
