Body Odor’s Silver Bullet

Body Odor’s Silver Bullet

Anyone who’s owned a synthetic base layer knows that, after a few months of rigorous use, the shirt adopts a funky quality more akin to running shoes than apparel—hence our affection for odor-repelling merino wool. But that all-nature fabric comes at a cost, which is why we’re interested to put Sherpa Adventures’ new Mechi base layers ($45 for short-sleeved) to the test when they hit the market this spring. The crew-neck tops are made of silkweight polyester with a knit structure to amp the already robust synthetic quick-drying properties. The shirts have also been treated with polygiene—a safe, natural silver-based treatment—that clams to combat bacteria- and fungus-causing odors for the life of the garment.
