Lowa Uses Fabric to Improve Cold-Weather Traction

Renegade Ice GTX black

Lowa Footwear‘s best selling Renegade Ice Hiking Boot, will soon offer fans more reasons to express their affection for the bootmakers. Next winter Lowa will introduce the Renegade Ice ($285), which pairs some mid-level Gore Tex design with new slip-resistant G3 gripping fibers embedded through the sole. Yea…fibers—little circles of fabric that they claim to offer 30 to 40 percent more traction on snow and ice (pictured below). The uppers include Gore Tex wool/poly-bend fleece lining for bomber weather protection with deby-style lacing, and a firm midsole that wraps around the lower part of the top part of the shoe for added stability and support.
