Volkl's V-Werks BMT 122 is a super lightweight, smooth skiing and fairly expensive powder ski that makes it easy to skin for untouched powder.

FULL REVIEW

Volkl’s V-Werks BMT 122 is a very specialized ski with a very specific purpose: making it easy for you to skin to the powder, and absolutely shred fresh lines when you do. Built with a full carbon fiber construction, a lightweight wood core and full rocker, as well as one of the widest waist widths of any ski in this category (along with Fischer’s Big Stix and the Scott Scrapper), the BMT features superior float and stability, along with a penchant for high speeds.

This ski is not cheap. And even though we tested it in awesome powder conditions, it was work turn on those last hardpack stretches back to the chair. It IS highly recommeneded for committed powder hounds who like to leave the boundary rope behind to absolutely arc fresh powder.
