Rossignol Super 7 Ski Test Results 2016 Review
September 16, 2015The Good
- Easy to ski
- Super versatile
- Playful and stable
- Great float
- Awesome edge hold (when you need it, that is)
- Nimble in all off-piste conditions
The Bad
- Loses some stability at top end speeds
- Stronger skiers can overload the tip
Rossignol's Super 7 continues to be a game-changer in elevating the performance expectations for big mountain skis. This is an incredibly versatile performer that can be counted on to deliver exceptional quality to a wide variety of skiers.
Bottomline: Testers continue to love this ski. Powder Turn Rocker makes it easy to initiate in all conditions, including deep powder and groomed. The Air Tip adds to a remarkably reliable swingweight and an effortless lightweight feel. While the Minicap Sandwich Construction offers grip and stability. Even with high expectations, the Super 7 continues to deliver, and remains one of the best skis on the market today.
If there are any drawbacks, a couple bigger testers felt the Air Tip could get over-powered, and there was a little less stability at the absolute highest speeds. Still, anyone who skis the West, or Pacific Northwest, who hunts down powder or calls in sick whenever it snows should seriously consider owning this ski.
