Want to do your part to fight climate change and score a sweet new pair of ski goggles at the same time? Protect Our Winters (POW) has announced that for the third year in a row it is joining forces with SPY Optics to give away limited edition goggles to those who donate to the cause – creating even more incentive to help us fight global warming.
For those who aren’t familiar with POW, it is a nonprofit made up of professional athletes and outdoor brands who have come together to battle climate change. The organization works tirelessly to mobilize members of the outdoor community like you and me to take strides towards being more environmentally conscious. Their message is clear: if we don’t do something soon we run the very real risk of losing the natural playgrounds that we’ve all come to know and love. And true to its name, POW targets global warming with its various iniatives, because if the Earth continues to warm up we could see our winters become a thing of the past.
As with most nonprofits, Protect Our Winters relies on fundraising and donations from like-minded inviduals to fund its operations. This year, it is giving donors even more incentive to open up the checkbooks. That’s because anyone who donates $110 or more not only recieves a 1-year membership to POW, but also a limited edition set of SPY x POW Ace ski goggles, which we first took a look at back in February of this eyar.
These mid-size goggles come equipped with high-quality Super Injected Curve lenses that feature SPY’s Quick Draw option. This allows you to see better on the hill in a variety of conditions, ranging from crystal clear blue skis, to complete whiteouts. Best of all, in their own nod towards helping the environment, SPY made these goggles completely out of recycled materials, which should help you feel even better about wearing them on the slopes.
Typically a pair of SPY’s Ace goggles would set you back $130, so even if you’re just donating to POW for the eyewear, you’ll get them at a $20 discount. But, since the money goes to help a good cause, you’ll also receive the piece of mind that you’re doing your part to fight climate change as well.
If you’re interested in taking advantage of this opportunity however, you may want to act quickly. There were only 240 of these limited edition goggles made, and they are likely to go fast.
