Peak Design launched it’s well-received Travel Tripod today, announcing that 100% of the profits will be donated to COVID-19 disaster relief and to the fight against climate change. This will apply to all sales regardless of source, on both aluminum and carbon fiber Travel Tripod models, through April 10th.
The carbon fiber Travel Tripod, with an MSRP of $600, nets a donation of about $120, while the aluminum version, with an MSRP of $350 nets about $70. These profits will go to the CDC Foundation to aid in the coronavirus response and Climate Neutral, which helps businesses offset their carbon footprints (Travel Tripods are carbon neutral).
As their name suggests, Peak Design’s Travel Tripods are optimized for mobility. The aluminum version weighs a claimed 3.44 pounds, while the carbon version boasts a 2.81 claimed weight. Both extend to a maximum height of 60 inches and collapses to a 15.4″ length and 3.125″diameter by a clever design that eliminates the negative space found in most other tripods. And the tripods can handle a 20-pound load.
The Travel Tripods come with an Arca compatible ball head that adjusts with a single ring for all directions and an integrated universal phone mount. Each tripod also ships with a soft case.
To take advantage of Peak Design’s generosity to the ongoing pandemic and battle against climate change, purchase either Travel Tripod on the Peak Design site or through their retail partners. Don’t forget, this offer only goes through April 10th!
