Melting: Last Race to the Pole – The ‘Last North’ Adventure to Air on Animal Planet

Eric Larsen is one of the most badass explorers in the world having completed multiple expeditions to Antartica,
the North Pole, and Everest. During his 2014 “Last North” expedition he and fellow explorer Ryan Waters completed an unsupported trek to the North Pole, carrying everything they needed for the trip with them in sleds.

Along the way he and Waters self-filmed the journey for Animal Planet and Denver based production company High Noon.
The footage they captured has been turned into a two-hour special called “Melting: Last Race to the Pole”. It documents the difficult trip through the treacherous obstacles of the melting ice of the Arctic Sea. Airing on Wednesday December 9th at 9/8c – this is an adventure movie you’ll not want to miss.

Larsen writes about the story: “The story of the melting Arctic is something that I have been trying tell for over a decade and
I honestly feel that this special could have a huge impact in bringing this conversation to a global audience. Equally
important is showcasing modern-day exploration and how extremely difficult this expedition was.” If you haven’t already, check out the preview of this
exciting and poignant production above, and be sure to tune in for the full experience on Wednesday evening.
