Volkl 100eight Ski Test Results 2016 Review
September 15, 2015The Good
- All-around performance
- Lightweight but still powerful
- Very turny
- Nimble
- Responsive
The Bad
- Not as much float as other skis in the category
- Wasn't as responsive in deeper snow
Volkl's 100eight is one of the best skis we tested in this category. It has true all-mountain performance and would make an excellent choice for passholders who want to grab the same pair of boards for every day.
Using its new 3D Ridge Technology, Volkl’s 100eight has packed a load of all-mountain performance into a very lightweight ski. Featuring a raised center ridge and thinner construction at the edges, the 100eight has an easy swingweight and superior edge initiation without sacrificing any power. This ski handled everything we threw at it, garnering one “Favorite” and then “Excellent” votes across the board.
There were a few questions about how the 100eight matched up in the “float” criteria to some other skis, but only in the deeper snow. This is a breakthrough new all-mountain ski and one of the top boards we tested this year.
