Salomon Q-105 Ski Test Results 2016 Review
September 15, 2015The Good
- Very maneuverable
- Effortless float
- Light feel
- Fun in deep snow
- Playful and surfy
The Bad
- Not a hardpack ski
- Has a speed limit
- Can be overpowered by bigger skiers
Salomon's Q-105 is number one for fun, with effortless float in the powder and ease of maneuverability wherever there is soft snow. It can be overpowered by bigger skiers and was not as stable at high speeds or on hard snow.
Built with Salomon’s Edgy Monocoque and Utility Rocker (a longer, gradual rise in the shovel and little tail rocker) the Q-105 is a lightweight easy surfing ski. It thrilled everyone in the powder with its smooth, playful turn style and ease of initiation, as well as its dreamlike float. Incredible maneuverability and stress-free performance make this a top pick for soft snow days.
The ski can be overpowered by bigger skiers, and it also lost some of its capability at higher speeds and on hard snow. Anytime it snows, you’ll want to be on this ski.
