The Bad

The Saucony Hurricane ISO 2 is a solid stability trainer that offers a superior ride quality with lasting comfort. It’s a perfect shoe for the runner who wants support and comfort yet enjoys a shoe that handles more than just slow easy runs. The Hurricane ISO 2 was a top pick comfort trainer among our testers however it comes with a hefty price tag.
The Saucony Hurricane ISO 2 is a daily stability trainer designed for the runner who needs moderate to severe pronation control and enjoys cushioning with high level of support. New for the Hurricane ISO 2 Suacony introduces a Tri-Flex outsole, which is designed for better ground contact and smoother ride as well as an improved ISOFit upper to enhance fit. The Hurricane ISO 2 offers an 8mm drop
Comfort
Saucony did a nice job making sure you won’t want to take these shoes off. It was one of the more comfortable shoes tested. The Hurricane ISO 2 has a soft feel to it and offers ample padding all over without feeling overly bulky and restrictive. A soft form-fitting upper cradles your feet and provides an excellent fit.
Fit
All our testers noted that the Hurricane ISO 2 felt a little small, with one suggesting sizing up half a size. The toe box runs on the wider side, however the ISOFit upper overly allows runners with narrow feet to really snitch down to get a snug fit. The ISOFit upper, a soft inner sock-like sleeve and independent cage lacing system gets mixed reviews. Some absolutely love it, others mentioned it created a hot spot when laced too tight.
Responsiveness
Typically it’s hard to get a stability shoe to be nimble and responsive however the Hurricane ISO 2 did not have that issue. These shoes handled perfectly, which was surprising given the heavy weight. Saucony’s EVERUN topsole and POWERGRID construction made heel-to-toe transitions smooth and easy. A flexible and springy internal foam provided excellent ground feel and toe off.
Speed
For a stability shoe that weights in at a heavy 10.8oz men and 9.4oz women, the Hurricane ISO 2 was surprisingly quick. It’s still not a shoe for anything faster then tempo, however it’s a standout compared to other stability shoes in a similar weight.
Ride Quality
The Hurricane ISO 2 is a super fun shoe to run in because it has plenty of cushioning that makes it comfortable and quite responsive. A springy foam underfoot and flexible midsole make toeing off easy and efficient.
