Support & Stability
The Quest utilizes a 4D Advanced Chassis EVA midsole to enhance stability and provide good support. Combined with an ortholite footbed and high ankle support this boot excels in the category of support and stability. Testers felt that this boot provided the best stability of all the boots tested and were confident wearing them across all terrains.

Protection
The leather and nylon outer material of the Quest give it a unique look that does a good job of keeping out the dirt and debris. The Gore-Tex lining prevented water from leaking in when crossing streams despite the many seams on the boot. It felt quite breathable despite the Gore-Tex lining, even in hotter weather. The lacing system is the most advanced of all those tested and really allowed for a tight fit around the ankle, although it was also the most time consuming to lace up.

Comfort
These are a surprisingly comfortable boot that are great right out of the box. These boots feel more like trail runners in the way that they can be worn immediately without causing blisters or rubbing. This boot provided the most padding around the ankle which testers really enjoyed when wearing this boot for long days of backpacking. This boot has one of the wider toeboxes that leaves plenty of room for the toes, which is especially appreciated when on steep down hills for long periods of time.

Traction
This boot uses Contagrip rubber outsoles that perform quite well going up and down rocky surfaces. Even after walking through snow the boots still stuck well to rocky trails so they are well suited to a variety of terrains.

Weight
Coming in at 21 ounces these boots are a tad bit heavier than some of the other boots tested but have a fairly lightweight feel. Due in large part to their comfortable fit, testers rarely felt that they were wearing a heavy duty backpacking boot.
