Let’s face it; we all lead very busy lives and it is sometimes difficult to carve out a little extra time to get outside and enjoy the activities that we truly love. Work, family, a hectic social schedule, and a host of other commitments can get in the way of the things we are most passionate about. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just get a few days to yourself to go hangout with friends, spend some time in the wild, and maybe even pick up a few new outdoor skills along the way?
That’s exactly the point of the new CamelBak Pursuit Series, which was officially unveiled today. The Pursuit Series is a collaboration between hydration pack specialists CamelBak and The Outbound Collective, a fast-growing online outdoor travel community focused on helping more people put a little adventure into their lives. The events will give attendees – dubbed “Pursuers” – the chance to have both educational and experiential opportunities as they spend three days doing the activities that they already love and learning some new ones, too.
The first event in the CamelBak Pursuit Series will take place at the Snowbasin Mountain Resort, located just outside of Salt Lake City, UT on August 11-13. The second edition is scheduled to take place a month later on September 8-10 in Sanborn County Park, near San Francisco, CA. Both events will give Pursuers the chance to play hard all day, connect with other outdoor enthusiasts, and hone their skills through hands-on instruction from professionals within the outdoor industry.
Some of the courses that will be offered at the Pursuit Series events include “Intro to Backpacking,” “Learning to Sup,” and “Campfire Cooking 101,” amongst others. Attendees will get the chance to go hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, trail running, and more. And at the end of the day, they’ll kick back and relax on site with complimentary beer and wine, group dinners, s’mores, and live music too.
Registration for both 2017 editions of the Camelbak Pursuit Series are now open. A three-day ticket includes all activities, expert instruction, and all necessary gear. It also grants access to nightly socials, as well as a welcome kit stocked with all kinds of gear from event sponsors, which include the likes of Petzl, Ice Breaker, and Leki. Prices start at $399, with campsites, glamping opportunities, meal plans, and optional events available as well.
