The Good

  • Superior float
  • Great in the sluff

The Bad

  • Overmatched in hard snow conditions
  • Felt less reliable at higher speeds
THE VERDICT

This is a great ski for making dolphin turns in soft and new snow conditions. It is not versatile enough to be considered a go-to ski for anyone looking for that "do-it-all" big mountain board.

FULL REVIEW

Scott’s Vanisher garnered some of the highest for “float” in the entire test. This ski really does love to hit the fall-line in powder and sluff. Good snow conditions amped up the pleasure meter for all the testers who rode the Vanisher.

That happiness factor fell off quickly when the ski encountered hard snow or high speeds. “Stability” is where the Vanisher received its lowest rankings. Overall, an easy ski to ski, it did not reward skiers who wanted to test the limits of what they–and this ski–could really do.
