Salomon Quest 98 (2013/2014) Review
August 30, 2013The Good
- Soft snow
- Bumps
The Bad
- Hard snow
- Stability
Salomon's Quest 98 is a fun soft snow ski that felt overmatched by high speeds and expert-level off-piste conditions.
Skiing in soft snow and bumps earned good marks for Salomon’s Quest 98, which was recognized for its comfort level in off-piste terrain. Forgiveness is also a virtue, as this ski has the same easy to initiate feel in a variety of conditions.
For overall performance it gets downrated at speed, especially on hardpack or if you are the kind of skier who loves to crank up the velocity in mixed snow, especially crud. Across the board our testers were not impressed with the overall high speed stability of this ski, and thought it was better aimed at weekend and recreational skiers who want an easy to ski setup for lift-served conditions.
