Oiselle Brilliance Bra Review
April 26, 2018The Good
- Adjustable chest strap
- Removable cups
- Higher front coverage
- Padded shoulder straps
The Bad
- Less coverage on sides of cups
- Marginal fit can create chafing
- Could use more compression for D cup
Comfort
The Oiselle Brilliance Bra is easy to take on and off, and it’s a comfortable option for lower impact activities. Testers found Brilliance Bra did not provide sufficient support for size D cups during high-intensity activities like running, but the pull-over design was nice for lounging or yoga-style movement.
Fit/Mobility
The sides on this bra don’t fully cover larger chests, so exposure and chafing can occur during a lot of movement. Higher mesh coverage on the front of the Oiselle Brilliance Bra provided extra front hold.
Support
While the Oiselle Brilliance Bra has a lot of coverage on the front of the chest, it’s not a bra that offers full support for larger cup sizes. The test found that a smaller size creates more compression, but then more exposure on the sides of chest.
Breathability
Mesh on the front and back of the Oiselle Brilliance Bra makes it very breathable even with thicker straps and higher coverage on the chest. An additional airway in the back creates more ventilation, and the fabric on the bra is sweat-wicking which testers found kept them cool while running.
Style/Design
Stylish and breathable mesh detailing make this an attractive and athletic bra. If the sizing and cup is a fit, the bra is versatile to wear for sweaty adventures, as well as fun events like beach volleyball.
These bras were tested for three months while running in both warm and cold weather conditions. Time spent wearing each bra and running ranged from short 20 minute interval sessions to more casual fun runs, to trail and road running races.
