Head i.Supershape Titan Review
September 22, 2016The Good
- Quick edge to edge
- Easy to initiate
- Stable and sure
- Good edge grip
- Solid underfoot
The Bad
- Felt heavy
- More of an intermediate to advanced ski
- Some other skis in this category performed better at high speeds
- Best at medium to short swing turns
Head's i.Supershape Titan was in Best in Class in the Frontside test last season. While it got a lot of 'Favorite' to 'Excellent' votes this season, it wasn't the unanimous clear winner this time around. Overall, a great ski for a wide range of skiers with awesome energy and great edge hold.
With an 80-millimeter waist width, the Head i.Supershape Titan was one of the widest skis in the Frontside Ski test this season. That equaled a versatility, and off-piste performance, that few other skis in this category could hope to match. Easy to ski edge-to-edge, with great hold in a turn, this ski will make a lot of people happy, especially because they don’t have to leave it home when there’s a little bit of new snow.
The Titan was outclassed in the pure speed, carving, race-style category, by several other skis. But if you aren’t planning to hit the gates, this is an excellent all-around lift-serve ski.
