Faction Supertonic Women’s Skis – 2014/2015 Review
September 14, 2014The Good
- Stable
- Fast
- Nice float
- Easily cuts through mixed snow conditions
The Bad
- Not super playful
- Some hard snow pushback
The Faction Supertonic is a big mountain ski that does exactly what a big mountain ski should--make incredibly smooth, wide turns through all off-piste conditions. Want power and grace? This ski has both.
Women who like to charge big mountain terrain absolutely loved the Faction Supertonic. Stability, sluff-ability and float all received high marks. Able to make buttery soft turns in the steeps, maneuverable in the trees and effortless in Snowbird’s deep bowls, the Supertonic also consistently delivered an even smoother ride that harder our testers pushed it.
Definitely best for athletic skiers who favor big terrain, the Supertonic tends to insist on a medium to long turn radius, and is at its best going straight down the fall-line arc after beautiful arc. This is not a ski for anyone working on their deep pow learner’s permit. (Also scored high marks for a sweet topsheet).
