The Bad

  • Look like rain boots
THE VERDICT

Although the Sydney Lace Plaid boots by Bogs are not the cutest winter boots compared to others tested, the boots did rein in as the most comfortable with a snug, cozy fit. The boots are completely waterproof and have a gusset well above the ankle for deep puddles, and were easy to slip on and off. Also, compared to some of the leather boots tested, the Bogs didn’t have any markings on the toes even after multiple wears.

FULL REVIEW

Style
The Sydney Lace Plaid Bogs look like rain boots and come in three color varieties of plaid. The boots aren’t fancy, as they are mostly rubber, but the plaid pattern adds a bit of fun to an everyday look.

Comfort
These boots were the easiest to get on and off—the grip holes at the top of the boots on both sides made it easy to pull the boots on, even when already laced up. No break-in period was required, and the Bogs fit snug around the ankle and foot.

Traction
On icy and snowy sidewalks, the Bogs had decent traction with the slip-resistant rubber outsole and medium lugs.

Warmth
Although the Bogs look like rain boots, an added layer of insulation make them a good choice for snowy days, too. The boots kept feet warm and completely dry in snow and melted puddles.

Quality/Durability
No markings were noticed on the rubber outsole and toes after initial wearing. Stretchy fabric around ankle wiped clean after tromping through puddles and dirty snow.
