McKenzie Long

McKenzie is a Jill-of-all-trades outdoorswoman and business woman. She enjoys anything that involves being in the mountains, such as mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and backpacking, but her first and primary love will always be rock climbing. She has sport climbed in Greece and Mexico, embarked on some small mountaineering expeditions in the Alaska Range and Patagonia, and spent many seasons climbing the luscious cracks of Indian Creek. She won XC Mountain Bike Nationals for her age group in 2015, wrote Supertopo’s High Sierra Climbing Second Edition guidebook, and co-wrote as well as art directed Wolverine Publishing’s Bishop Bouldering Select. Based in Mammoth Lakes, California, she runs a freelance business where she designs guidebooks, creates the layout for the American Avalanche Association’s winter publication The Avalanche Review, and organizes the American Alpine Club’s Bishop Fall Highball each year. In addition to design, McKenzie is passionate about writing. She has written gear reviews for over six years, and enjoys subjecting gear to tough tests and critical evaluation.
