Kaenon has valiantly made an effort to engineer sports eyewear for women, and they deliver with the Soft Kore lightweight performance sunglass. Designed with “reduced cranial geometry” and shorter temples, this sunglass offers a custom fit for women. A semi-rimless frame silhouette shaves off weight and keeps the elements at bay while broadening the field of vision.

The Soft Kore relies on the same outstanding optics for which Kaenon has become known. The company’s proprietary polarized SR-91 lens marries the excellent optical quality of glass with the lightweight, strength, scratch resistance, and impact resistance of polycarbonate.

A wide variety of lens tints are available for this sunglass. This test focused on the G28 lens, which was spot on for bright, sunny conditions. We experienced zero glare, even while skating or snowshoeing in the snow on sunny bluebird days. This lens was a bit too dark for low light conditions, but other lens tints are available for varying light conditions.

The women’s-specific design of the Soft Kore, including its reduced size and shorter temples, was definitely appreciated in this test. It did, however, feel a bit small and would have benefitted from some type of temple or nosepad adjustability, especially when worn under a winter hat.

That issue aside, the icing on the Soft Kore cake is that it looks really cool, especially for a performance features-packed package. The shapely design, along with the ethereal white pearl color of the style tested make a tremendous style statement.
