Athleta Sprint Seamless Bra Review
July 21, 2012The Good
- Very comfortable, soft, seamless fabric
- Removable cups add shape for smaller-busted women
- Rides up easily; so do cups
The Bad
- Fabric is on the heavy side
This is a comfortable, all-day bra that transitions well from the gym to around town, but for what it owns in the comfort category, it lacks in support. I felt it offered up to medium support for A/B cups and low for C cups.
A high-coverage, wireless compression bra for a range of activities, best suited for cooler temperatures.
My experience with Athleta is that it tends toward thicker, heavier fabrics than other sports brands, and this bra is no different. This is not the bra I would grab for a sunny, 90-degree run, but would use it for Fall through Spring.
Fit
Though the Sprint was one of the more comfortable sports bras I’ve worn, it felt like there was more fabric against my upper chest and in the lower part of the straps than other bras, which meant more sweating and less wicking between the breasts. There was also an odd tight spot in the band under the armpits (which, of course, could be unique to my chest shape); otherwise the bra fits very well everywhere else.
Support
The full coverage is probably more advantageous for larger cup sizes and women who like more modesty in their bras.
Best usage
Because of its weight, I would wear this bra for yoga or light hiking, or runs on cool days. I would not choose this bra for a long midsummer run.
