Campers looking to avoid a cold night in the tent on their next camping trip may want to check out the latest Kickstarter campaign from a company called Revean. These high-tech liners are water resistant, highly packable, and even wearable. But their best feature is a built-in battery pack that not only charges your phone, but powers a heating element integrated into the liner itself.

GoPro Announces Developers Program to Expand Camera Functionality
Yesterday, GoPro annouced a new Developers Program that aims to expand the functionality of its ubiquitous cameras beyond just capturing our outdoor adventures. The action cam maker has already partnered with more than 100 companies ranging from BMW to Fisher Price. The idea is to uses mobile apps, and other technology to integrate GoPro cameras in new and interesting ways.

Obōz to Plant 100,000 Trees for Earth Day
Earth Day is just a week away, and in anticipation of that event Montana based Obōz Boots has announced that it will plant more than 100,000 trees. The boot maker has partnered with Trees for the Future, an organization that is working to improve lives and the environment in sub-Saharan Africa. For every $10 donated to the cause, 100 trees are planted. Obōz has promised to match all contributions up to $5000.

69-Year Old Paddler to Kayak Across the Atlantic for the Third Time
Canoe & Kayak reports that Polish paddler Aleksander Doba will attempt to kayak across the Atlantic Ocean for the third time at the age of 69. Doba plans to set out from New York in his 21-foot custom kayak on May 29 with the intention of traveling to Lisbon, Portugal. This will be his most northerly route to date and Doba – who will turn 70 in September – anticipates that it will be his toughest as well.

Get Free Entry into the National Parks
The National Park Service has designated April 16-25 National Parks Week, and to celebrate its waiving all entry fees during that period. That means for the next ten days you can visit places like Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon absolutely free. Most parks will also be hosting special events as well, including opportunities for younger visitors to earn their Junior Ranger badges.
