For those of you who have yet to find your totem trail necklace, Emberlit’s Fire Starter Necklace just might be what you’re looking for. Designed to excel in both form and function, everything about the necklace – with exception of the quick release toggle that holds it around your neck – has been designed to help you start a fire.
Emberlit offers multiple pendants to choose from, all of which are made from high-carbon steel. Additionally, the length adjustment toggle actually doubles as a ferro rod for creating sparks, while, the 550 cordage – dubbed “FireCord” – features a core strand that has been designed to be used as tinder. The cord is also waterproof and can be used for lashing as well.
The total package can be purchased for $30, or you can buy the pendants separately and rig up your own system if you choose. There are currently fourteen pendants to choose from – some of which have the added function of serving as a bottle opener too.
