The Stickiest Mountain Bike Shoe Ever

The Stickiest Mountain Bike Shoe Ever

None of us will ever be able to bike like Greg Minnaar, who’s poised to win his 18th World Cup, making him the winningest downhill mountain biker in the world. But next spring you can at least cycle in his shoes. Greg worked closely with the Five Ten design team to create the new Impact Vxi Clipless riding shoe ($180), an SPD-compatible kick with a combo lace and velcro closure, wider cleat placement to let riders dial in a custom fit, and a hydrophobic foam that should allow any wetness from the trails to dry out overnight. The shoe also boasts Five Ten’s new Stealth MI6 sticky rubber—the one that was developed for a Tom Cruise building-climbing scene in Mission Impossible 6, and won one of our Best in Show awards last summer. —Nathan Borchelt
