In a commercial world of giant outdoor gear companies it is nice to run into people who live the lives of their customers and then design gear to fit their lifestyle. Will and Kelly Watters started Western Rise based on their daily activities with the idea you shouldn’t have to change your clothes three times a day just because you start with a climb, cast a line after lunch, and meet friends at a bar for a nightcap.
The signature piece is the Bitter Creek Anorak jacket ($299). The stylish, innovative and diverse anorak is designed for fly fishing guys and gals, but could easily be used for multiple outdoor activities. Waterproof, yet breathable, the jacket comes with a gusseted collar and a large hood.
The Granite Camp pants ($99) and shorts ($69) are likely to quickly become your favorites from this down-to-earth company based out of Colorado. Designed for use in a variety of activites, both feature fabrics that are water resistant, offer protection from the sun, and have anti-microbial properties as well.
Western Rise has a small, but growing, collection of other items that will show up around campfires in the near future.
