The Scarpa Rush Low GTX was the hardest shoe in the class for me to rate, because it's not truly a "lightweight trail-runner." Judging it purely as a running shoe, the Rush Low GTX is too heavy, warm, and rigid to run in easily for long continuous periods. That said, I gave it a high rating because it fits a very specific niche that is exactly what it is advertised for. The Rush Low GTX is designed for long, wet, cold days that are adventure run-hikes. It is at home with microspikes on or as an approach shoe before donning mountaneering boots for a climb. For the weight, it is durable and protective. It will continue to have place in my closet for fast-packing, slow winter treks, and random adventure days.
