Traction issues, particularly on wet footingNot enough support for longer runsOn the long and narrow sideThere are a lot of things to like about the Terra Kiger 7. They are incredibly light, while having a foam midsole that doesn't feel thin or cheap. The lacing is secure and comfortable, without creating pressure points, thanks to a small strip of foam padding that protects the highest part of the foot. The downside is really their technical performance, particularly in wet conditions with lots of rocks or roots. They are OK for steep climbs and descents, if weather is favorable, but I did notice more lower leg fatigue compared to some other shoes in this category. The bottom line is, this shoe really has one purpose: to go really fast on non-technical trails for a fairly short period (50k or less). This makes them a great choice for some races, interval runs, and up-tempo workouts.
