Quiksilver Gets into the Hotel Business

Quiksilver, the Huntington Beach, CA-based surfwear company, is getting into the hospitality game by extending its brand into a new action-sport hotel concept dubbed Quiksilver Hotels and Resorts International. As reported by the Orange County Business Journal the new venture is currently planting stakes in a handful of locales that will be unveiled in the next five years. The new properties will include on-site concert venues, skate parks, surf pools, and—get this—indoor skydiving. This new company will operate independently of the Qucksilver brand, and details at the Quiksilver Hotels website remain pretty murky (read: password-protected). Could this be the first in a new world of high-end adventure hotels? We can already picture the Patagonia hotel nestled into the wilds of Torres del Paine…
