About Andrew Bisharat

Andrew Bisharat is one of the most recognizable voices in climbing writing for his irreverent and popular column “Tuesday Night Bouldering,” appearing monthly in Rock and Ice magazine, where Bisharat works as a senior editor. He is also the author of the how-to climb book Sport Climbing: From Top Rope to Redpoint, Techniques for Climbing Success, which won the 2010 National Outdoor Book Award for best instructional. In the course of Bisharat‘s decade-plus tenure as a climber, he has climbed 5.14, El Cap aid routes in a day, and has worn through enough ropes, carabiners, harnesses and sticky rubber climbing shoes to rival the national inventory of REI. He most enjoys testing climbing shoes because “it’s the only piece of gear that actually helps you climb better right away.”
