Evelo Electric Bicycle Company wants to empower bike riders. Or rather, the Evelo engineers want to empower traditional bikes for their riders.
The new Evelo Omni Wheel, available in 26-inch and 700cc versions, features a battery-powered motor to convert nearly any bicycle into an e-bike. The $1,000 Omni Wheel features a 350-watt motor that can keep bikes cruising at up to 20 miles per hour over more than 25 miles of total travel distance. An optional extended battery pushes that to 40 miles per charge.
