Swedish gear manufacturer Fjällräven has unveiled its complete collection of apparel for spring and summer 2015, revealing an impressive line-up of jackets, packs, and clothing designed with the active outdoor enthusiast in mind. But mixed in with all of the sleek, modern gear were several products that featured a decidedly vintage look as well. These eye-catching items manage to mix modern sensibilities with a retro flair, creating something completely unique in the process.

Räven Jacket ($250)

The new Räven Jacket revives a product that first appeared in the company’s catalog way back in 1970. It features a timeless design recreated out of modern recycled polyester and organic cotton that make it lightweight and very comfortable. In addition to its distinctive throwback stylings, the jacket also features two-way zippers, windflaps, a drawstring hem, and a foldaway hood, each of which contributes to its very unique look.

Duffel No. 6 ($200 – $300)

Fjällräven has also imbued the classic Duffel No. 6 with a timeless design as well. Upon first glance, it is impossible to tell whether or not this bag was first produced yesterday or if it is a holdover from a bygone era. Closer inspection reveals that it is constructed from 1000-denier waterproof nylon and features high quality zippers that provide unfettered access to the main compartment. A second exterior pocket is perfect for storing important items you want to keep close at hand, and the bag has the capability of converting to a backpack in a pinch. The Duffel No. 6 is available in three sizes: 50 liters, 70 liters, and 110 liters

Övik Backpack ($130 – $150)

The Övik Backpack also features an attractive vintage design that compliments the Räven Jacket nicely. The products premium leather straps and metal buckles only enhance the perception that is pack hails from a different era. Oversized side pockets add to the retro look, harkening back to alpine daypack designs from decades past. But the Övik has some distinctly modern features, including a padded laptop sleeve, an interior zippered security pocket, and durable water resistant fabrics. It is available in 15-liter and 20-liter sizes.
