This is the fifth generation of the Torin, Altra's second-thickest shoe (next to the jumbo Paradigm). It boasts a 28-mm thick midsole. It also features Altra's zero-drop platform, meaning the heel is the same height off the pavement as the forefoot to encourage a neutral stride. Altra's main selling points on this shoe are a "focused fit" and feel that's designed to be both comfortable and "locked in". You'll see a new foam on this shoe--Altra's "Altra EGO Max", which the company describes as "light and luxurious while maintaining a cushioned ride." The sample weights for women (size 8.5) are 7.3 ounces and for men (sizee 10.5) 9.0 ounces. These retail for $150 and come in four colors for men and four for women. Expect them to hit shelves around June of 2021.
