Volkl's Kendo may feel light, but its performance is anything but. This ski easily handles all frontside conditions with an ease that breeds confidence. Highly recommended.
Volkl’s Kendo is a wonder of finesse and high performance. A mix of early rise rocker and traditional camber, it’s super easy to initiate a turn on these skis, and absolutely arc it. The “Power Construction,” a mix of traditional vertical sidewalls around a torsion, results in superior edge hold and also enhances the ski’s ability to provide Cadillac-smooth handling in the mixed stuff. The ski received “Excellent” to “Favorite” rankings from all our testers and was easily one of the top boards in the All Mountain Frontside category of our test.
Interestingly, the Kendo seemed to be at its best once you got it off the hardpack. It could also feel a little choked in the bumps, but only because it’s so much fun to drive this ski in mid to longer-range arcs. If you bought a pass and plan to log a lot of days this winter, then put the Kendo at the top of your Christmas list.
