Volkl Aura Women’s Skis – 2014/2015 Review
September 15, 2014The Good
- Top of the line stability
- Great edge hold
- One of the best 'Big Mountain' skis on hard snow
The Bad
- Lost points on float
- Not for intermediates
You want to charge the powder? So does the Volkl Aura. This is a well-designed, well-constructed ski that will pay big dividends for accomplished skiers who want a steady wing-women when they're charging technical terrain.
In the Aura, Volkl has created a technically sound ski for very variable terrain. How? Basically by merging race style construction like vertical sidewalls for edge hold and durability, with Full Rocker Profile for versatility, to create a hard-charging soft snow ski that in any condition is just about guranteed to grab and hold a turn.
This ski is a flat-out winner for women who like to work the same mid to long-turn mechanics from the powder to the groomed. Soft snow floaters will be enthusiastic about getting edged up to the express lane.
