Comfort
The soft, flexible polyester/elastane fabric was comfortable and chafe-free, even on long sweaty runs. Also, even though this is billed as a “compression” bra, the individual cup support provides added comfort and stability.
Fit/Mobility
Under Armour builds their Protegee bras specifically for different cup sizes, and provides a full range of band sizes for each. This allows for a superior fit which is incredibly important when large cup sizes meet high impact sports. The supple material allowed for a wide range of mobility although, it is designed to fit very tightly.
Functionality
My fellow tester and I loved the front zip. Although the hook and loop closure bras also allowed for extra compression, the front zip virtually eliminated any struggle getting the thing on and off.
Support
Although we thought there were more supportive bras in the test (see the CW-X VersatX), the Protegee was adequate for high impact trail runs. (A warning that both testers had fit issues with this bra which affected our support, so be sure you get just the right fit – it is meant to be very snug.)
Breathability
Although there is no airflow under the breasts or side panels, the medium-coverage back is fully mesh up to the shoulder.
Value
At around $50, this is a very good buy for larger busted women who are seeking high support.
