Salomon Hime Mid LTR CSWP Review
May 9, 2016The Good
- Extremely comfortable
- Waterproof and breathable
The Bad
- Look like snow boots
- Slightly clunky
The Salomon Hime Mid Boots ranked in as some of the most comfortable boots tested with a snug fit and roomy toebox. The boots are waterproof and extremely warm, plus they have a cute knit decoration on the back upper for added style. Traction faired well compared to other boots, and the pair had no markings on the split-suede after multiple wears.
Style
These boots look more like a snow boot, with a clunky outsole and hefty upper. However, the suede material and soft wool ribbing above the ankle made for a cute boot, ideal for day-to-day wear with jeans or leggings.
Comfort
With a snug fit around the foot, a roomy toe box, and a strong ankle shaft, these boots were extremely comfortable out of the box. The laces were easy to tighten around the ankle, and the molded EVA made for a soft footbed.
Traction
On icy, snowy sidewalks, the Salomon boots faired well with their Contragrip rubber outsole. Compared to other boots tested, these boots had the best traction.
Warmth
With 200 grams of Thinsulate insulation, the boots kept feet warm and dry on even negative-degree days and throughout snowy sidewalks.
Quality/Durability
The Salomon boots had no markings on the split-suede leather upper after multiple wearings, and the construction and seams appear long-lasting.
