Rossignol Hero Elite LT TI Review
September 22, 2016The Good
- Powerful
- Excellent edge hold
- Rips short to medium radius turns
- Super stable
- Easy to access power
The Bad
- Not as versatile as some other skis in this category
- For advanced to experts only
- Needs to be driven
- More damp than pop
- Groomed snow (or ice) only
Rossignol's Hero Elite LT TI is the perfect ski for race league skiers who want something they can rely on to rip the gates and also burn up the groomed (or ice) under the chair. This is not a ski for intermediates or anyone who wants to space out on a mellow cruiser once in awhile.
Several testers on our team have a strong race background (including one former U.S. Ski Team member), and they absolutely loved this ski. Built with a World Cup titanal sandwich construction, the Hero is powerful and confident, but easy to initiate and a pleasure to carve as well. It absolutely rips short swing turns at high speed, with an edge grip that seems to slice through hard pack snow.
It’s not the most versatile ski in terms of turn shape. Although it’s perfectly balanced for the race guys and some of our bigger testers to roll it into some long turns, short to medium radius turns are really this ski’s M.O. For experts only, there’s no off-switch on power and performance here, the Hero will help you star when arcing hard snow.
