THE VERDICT

Fischer's Ranger 106 TI is a big mountain ski that, given its great hard snow performance, East Coasters could easily turn into a go-to all-mountain ski.

FULL REVIEW

Fischer’s Ranger 106 TI is a strong performing, hard turning, hard snow loving lift-served ski. It just may not be a super versatile all-terrain ski. Superior marks for hard snow and hard-charging performance earned the Ranger some serious fans among our testers (as did the easy swingweight of the board’s Air Tec construction, which makes for a lighter ski).

BUT, a lack of float and sluff-ability (especially in the flats, where the stiffness can be less of an asset) limited the all-around perfromance of the ski. The consensus? If you like to make long arcs, typically get packed snow conditions, but want to make the same long, damp turn when it snow, this is a really good ski.
