The Good

  • Float
  • Stability--in powder only

The Bad

  • Not responsive in anything less than perfect snow
  • Not versatile for in-bounds powder skiers
THE VERDICT

It's amazing how much better the DPS Lotus 120 feels in powder, where it excels, as opposed to almost anything but perfect lift-served conditions, where it struggles.

FULL REVIEW

The DPS feels like a dream come true when you’re shredding through an apron of untouched snow. That dream sours as soon as you hit hardpack, bumps or crud. The rockered shovel absolutely invites easy surfing and slarving, which should not be mistaken for all-mountain versatility.

Bottomline: if you’ve got some cat or heli-skiing, or a secret stash that delivers regularly, you will really enjoy this ski. If you’re looking for more of an all-around gamer, you can get a lot more performance for a lot less money.
