Athleta Tempo Seamless Bra Top Review
March 12, 2013The Good
- Super comfortable stretchy fabric
- Adjustable straps
- Lightweight, breathable
- Moves well with body
- Padding bunches up and moves around
The Bad
- Not good for high-impact activities
- Standard S/M/L sizing
This is a fantastic bra for yoga or fitness classes, and lovely on its own due to the flattering padded cups. However, support is minimal, and high-impact sports like running are out of the question for C cups or larger.
Comfort
This is a supremely comfortable bra. Unlike all the swimsuit-like lycra bras out there, the stretchy nylon/spandex fabric “hugs” (as opposed to “squeezes”) your curves.
Fit/Mobility
The fabric is super stretchy and moves extremely well for activities that require lots of body movement, like yoga, climbing, or dancing. The downside to fit is the standard S/M/L sizing, but the adjustable straps provide some customization.
Functionality
This is a typical over-the-head sports bra. Because the fabric is so pliable, it is very easy to get on and off. The padding, which is flattering but incredibly annoying when it gets bunched up, is removable.
Support
The Tempo Seamless provides minimal support for high-impact activities that involve running or jumping.
Breathability
This is a full coverage bra, particularly in the sweaty middle-back, with no mesh for letting out steam. However, the fabric is quite breathable. I felt like the padding got a little stuffy with all the extra material.
Value
Since this test is rating bras for running, and this bra failed to deliver the support we expected, the $46 pricetag demands a lower value rating. However, this would be a good value for lower-impact sports.
