Armada VJJ 2.0 Women’s Skis – 2014/2015 Review
September 16, 2014The Good
- Great float
- Playful and responsive
- Easy swing weight
- Versatile
The Bad
- Upturned tails (for skinning and chutes)
- Firm snow (not surprising, give the category)
This ski rocks. In lots of ways, including its versatility, easy swing weight and magical float. Armada's VJJ 2.0 is a strong pick for women's powder ski of the year.
Armada’s VJJ 2.0 took our testers by storm. Its excellent float made it a dream to surf in soft conditions, while its ease of turn initiation and sweet swingweight meant they could make turns on demand, no matter how deep or slushy conditions got. Whether it was sashaying down the center of steep chute, or devouring big bowls and exposed lines, the VJJ 2.0 gets it down with poise, ease and non-stop class.
For some, the upturned tails were less than a plus, especially for clicking in on exposed terrain or setting on edge in hard-skied chutes. Overall, this ski is highly recommended for all-season Western women who prefer wild snow, and destination skiers on cat or heli-trips.
