Esperos Classic Backpack
Yeah, there’s a bird on it, proving that the hipster trend parodied by Portlandia still applies. But when it comes to Esperos’ Classic Backpack ($75) it’s a logo tendency we’ll tolerate. This urban-centric pack is constructed of durable canvas similar to that used for vintage military gear, which lends a timeless aesthetic to this and the other packs in their line. Inside the 16-inch-tall, 12-inch-wide backpack, you’ll find a zippered pocket with an Oxford strip trim and a padded laptop sleeve. The drawstring closure may not be as bombproof as zippers, but the flip-top lid and twin buckles should keep things pretty secure, and a nice pocket on the lid is great for stashing quick-grab items like your phone or plane ticket. But the quality of this pack is only half the story; for every bag purchased, Espresos, whose name is derived from the Spanish verb “to hope,” donates upwards of $10 from every bag purchased to help fund children’s school tuition in developing countries. And at only $75 per pack, that’s reason enough to outfit your whole family. The Classic comes in five colors, including charcoal, bourbon, and olive.
