It’s a tent with a porch. This spring, Big Agnes rolls out their new Super Scout UL two-person tent ($400), which not only weighs a scant two pounds and three ounces, but its unique configuration provides a massive, 44-square-foot vestibule accessible via an equally-massive roll-panel doorway. That’s enough space to accommodate a bike touring kit, a couple of Saint Bernards, or your dwindling sanity as you wait out a Pacific Northwest rainstorm. The rectangular sleeping area measures in at 29 square feet, with 45 inches of headspace and mesh webbing under the eaves that should improve airflow and cut down on condensation build-up. You will need two hiking poles to pitch this A-frame single-wall tent.—Nathan Borchelt
